Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about autonomous multi-cloud operations, security guardrails, or FinOps automation? Here are the answers.
What is an Autonomous Multi-Cloud Operator? ▾
An Autonomous Multi-Cloud Operator is an intelligent infrastructure control plane that unifies disparate cloud provider APIs (including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform) under a single intent-driven conversational interface.
Unlike traditional point-and-click cloud consoles or disconnected CLI tools, Opsigil translates natural language prompts into production-grade Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/OpenTofu), performs pre-flight FinOps cost calculations, validates Open Policy Agent (OPA) compliance baselines, and executes cloud mutations with human-in-the-loop safety gates.
Can junior developers or non-DevOps team members safely execute cloud tasks? ▾
Yes. Opsigil is specifically engineered to eliminate the traditional DevOps bottleneck by offering governed, policy-bound self-service. Developers can request multi-cloud environments, databases, or container clusters using plain English without needing to master complex HCL syntax or cloud provider quirks.
Senior architects and platform leads configure organizational guardrails (e.g. maximum instance sizes, mandatory VPC peering, strict encryption standards). Every generated execution plan requires explicit sign-off via a Human-in-the-Loop approval gate before any infrastructure is modified.
How does Opsigil automate cloud tasks across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud? ▾
Opsigil maintains an internal semantic mapping of cloud services across all three hyperscalers. For example, when you ask for an active-active containerized microservice, Opsigil resolves AWS ECS/Fargate and Route53 on one side, and Azure AKS and Azure Traffic Manager on the other.
It automatically establishes encrypted transit connections (WireGuard / Transit Gateway), provisions required IAM trust boundaries, synthesizes modular GitOps-ready Terraform code, and synchronizes state files across clouds to prevent configuration drift.
Does Opsigil require invasive host agents or root cloud credentials? ▾
No. Opsigil operates entirely agentless. It connects to your AWS, Azure, and GCP environments through strictly scoped, temporary IAM roles via OpenID Connect (OIDC) or native cross-account assume-role delegations.
We never require permanent root keys, and your infrastructure remains 100% inside your own cloud subscriptions and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs).
How does Opsigil compare to traditional Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi? ▾
Opsigil is not a proprietary replacement for Terraform or OpenTofu; it is an intelligent operator built on top of them. Rather than forcing your team to hand-write hundreds of lines of boilerplate HCL, Opsigil synthesizes modular, clean, and tested Terraform code directly.
All generated IaC is committed directly to your enterprise Git repositories (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket), guaranteeing zero vendor lock-in. If you ever decide to stop using Opsigil, all your infrastructure remains fully functional standard Terraform.
How does Opsigil prevent unexpected cloud billing spikes and enforce FinOps budgets? ▾
Opsigil features real-time Pre-Flight FinOps calculation. Before executing any command, the AI operator calculates the exact dollar impact on your monthly cloud billing across compute, storage, and egress.
If an operation exceeds pre-configured budget thresholds, Opsigil automatically flags the anomaly and halts execution until a FinOps officer or Lead Architect approves the variance. Additionally, Opsigil continuously scans for orphaned volumes, unattached IPs, and oversized VMs to reclaim wasted budget.
